I got to choose my own image this week and went for this gorgeous one from D'Arcy's Diaries - I am totally in love with these at the moment. They are so quirky and yet very pretty. They are from the same lady as the Teddy Bo images and I totally love those too :0)

Close up of the image - I have glittered the heart and part of her wings. The glitter looks so much nicer in real life - this photo really does not do it any justice, in fact I think it just makes the wings look dirty :0( I haven't had a chance to decorate the inside yet but will do when I get the chance.

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #110

Our challenge over at The Pixie Cottage this week is everyone's favourite - ANYTHING GOES!! We also have a fab sketch for you - should need some inspiration :0)

As usual, you can use the theme, the sketch or both - the choice is always yours.

I went with the sketch this week as Mr. Mojo is still on vacation I'm afraid :0( This sweet stamp is called "Hannah on a Sled/Winter Fun Hannah" and you can get her from Michelle's Scrapbooking and More shop under The Pixie Cottage stamps category. There are also other, just as lovely, Hannah stamps available over there too.

She is so easy to colour - I have added some white dots to her top and ribbon to match with the pink paper I have used. There is also some white faux stitching around the papers to match with the ribbon but this does not show up too well in the photo I'm afraid.

Circles - cut on the Cricut and Cuttlebug

Back again, this time with my DT card for this week's challenge over at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges where we have a lovely sketch for you to follow.

As it is Team Karen's turn to host the challenge this week - I have a card to show you!!

I have been wanting to use this little fella for such a long time and decided that if I flipped the sketch sideways, I could!! He is called "Hoot Owl" and I just adore him. I cut the clouds from some paper I printed for the inside of the card and coloured them with a Promarker.

and this is the inside. The ovals have been cut on my Cricut.

I love this sketch - so easy to use and I am really happy with the end result. Sketches are so handy when your mojo takes his annual leave (which mine is doing at the moment - lol). Hello All,

It's time for another Pixie Cottage Challenge and this week we have a gorgeous theme of Buttons and Bows and an equally gorgeous sketch for you to follow - if you so wish. As usual the choice is yours, the sketch, the theme or both.

Isn't this a great sketch.

I went with the theme and the sketch this week, using this adorable stamp called "Udderly Adorable - Girl". There is also a boy version available and he is just as cute. You can find them both in Michelle's Scrapbooking and More Shop under The Pixie Cottage Stamp range.

Isn't she just so sweet - I really love this stamp and of course, she is perfect for baby cards.

Dance Every Day

A very good friend of mine is recovering from an operation on her knee and when I decided to make her a get well card, I knew exactly which image I wanted to use.......Mummu by Mo Manning as she just loves to dance herself.

I love the whole series of Mummu images by Mo - they are such fun - but this in the only one I have bought so far. I have kept the card fairly simple as my friend is not one who likes fussy!! The message inside reads "And Dancing Every Day".

And this is a close up - I really enjoyed colouring this.

DYSU #59 - Layers

At last, a card!!!

It's time for our new challenge over at Do You Stack Up? and this week's theme is LAYERS. So we want to see plenty of matting and layering, decoupage or even pyrimage. Whatever takes your fancy so long as there is more than one layer!!

My little piece of inspiration this week uses a gorgeous image from The Paper Shelter called "The Final Touch". I used the pre-coloured image that comes with the digi stamp for my project as I wanted to decoupage it and really didn't think I could face colouring all those layers :0) Apart from that, the coloured image is so pretty. Kept the card very simple - another circular shape which I am loving at the moment!!

And this is a side view to show the layers of decoupage. Sorry about the grainy photo. The light was not at all good :0( I also think the glitter I have added to parts of the image is not helping either!!

Google Friends Connect Widget

Hi All,

I have been away for the weekend and have come back to see lots of people posting about Google removing their GFC widget. Following my previous post, I would like to reiterate that I am aware it has only been advertised as Non-Blogger sites that will lose it at the end of February but some of the posts I have read are saying it will eventually be phased out completely. Confusion seems to reign!! I must admit that I find it hard to believe that Google would be prepared to upset so many of their users by removing this gadget, sooooo I have popped the Linky Friends gadget on my sidebar just in case!!! It will also be useful for my Non-Blogger friends to link up with. I am keeping everything crossed that Google do not remove it for Blogger users as this will cause total chaos I'm sure.

I know it's late but I have just heard on the news that Whitney Houston has died at the age of 48 - so sad. A once great star taken from us at far too young an age.

Google Followers Button Being Removed!!!

Hi All,

I have just read on Vicky's blog that Google Connect will be stopping their Followers button for non Blogger platforms such as Wordpress at the end of the month and eventually it will be removed completely - how sad is that. However, there is another Linky tool available which I have popped on the top of my sidebar (thanks Vicky). If you want to read some more info about this go HERE.

I would hate to lose all of my lovely followers and so would ask (pretty please) that you follow me on the new link and pop one on all of your blogs so that I can follow you back :0)

I'm So Sorry.....I Forgot!!!

Morning All,

Happy Saturday to you. Today I want to show you a card I have made for a friend's Birthday that I forgot - I know, shame on me and I have no excuse other than old age really is setting in :0(

This was my very first Mo Manning image I bought and I love it. That poor little rabbit looks so sad - he is called "Late" and I thought he was perfect for a belated birthday card and as I have had him for an age, I thought it was about time I used him.

and this is the inside. The sentiment is from Create with TLC but I have added the first line myself.

Digi Doodle Shop Challenge #94

Told you I would be back.
This week over at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges, it's team Karen's turn to inspire you and our theme is One For The Boys. Not one we all relish but we do all occasionally need a card for him!!

I chose to use this great image called "The Adamant Golfer - Focus" for my card, which is one of the newer stamps for men over in the Digi Doodle Shop. I just loved this pose and was even more amazed when I read that it was inspired by an actual golfer nicknamed "Spider-Man" ........

This is Camilo Villegas in his famous "Spider Man" pose - looks somewhat painful to me - lol!! Anyway, painful poses aside, I wanted an amusing golfing pun for the inside of the card so searched the web and found this one which fitted the image perfectly :0)

Don't know about you, but I wouldn't be able to produce anything graceful after getting myself into that position, but then I'm no golfer - lol!!

My card this week showcases this gorgeous A Girl With A Rose image by Torico at Birdie Brown - isn't she just the cutest. I have made a circular aperture card as I wanted something different to my normal square ones and as I got a Grand Calibre from Santa this Christmas and the large set of scalloped nesties, I was able to do this using both the large and regular ones.

Hello All - hope you are all well and if you are in the UK - keeping warm during this nasty cold and snowy spell we are having!! Our challenge this week over at The Pixie Cottage is as usual an either/or. You can use either the lovely sketch below or this week's theme which is RED and if you are feeling very ambitious you can use both :0)

As soon as I saw that the theme was RED, I knew which image I wanted to use. This couch just couldn't be any other colour, could it!! It is a digi image by ArTish called "Plush Couch" and you can find it here over at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More. I really love those pictures hanging on the wall too.

My card this week uses this sweet Wags and Whiskers digi image from Stamp & Create called "Love You Sis". I have kept the card design fairly simple so as not to overshadow just how lovely it is.

Here is a close-up for you. I think these two little sisters are so pretty. I do have a confession to make here - this was my second coloured image. The first one I had applied Glossy Accents to their boots and had attempted raindrops but the drops looked more like splodges which I was not at all happy with, so I coloured up this one and left it well alone - lol!!

And of course, I decorated the inside too!!

Hello again!!

The Stamping Boutique - Winner's choice of 5 images

I got to use this gorgeous "Smoochie" image from The Stamping Boutique and made a centre step card as I haven't made one of these for ages!! The ribbon I have used was already pleated and the flower was made by simply gathering a length and stitching it together. Simple but quite effective me thinks!!

Dance A Little Everyday

The lovely Lisa over at Wishcraft has vowed to use a stamp or digi image that has never seen the light of day, every Wednesday and has invited everyone to join her. I have stacks of uninked stamps and unprinted digis so thought this was a brilliant idea and have tried to take part each week.

This week I was determined to use one of my gorgeous Saturated Canary digis and this is what I came up with.........

This is Zorana, A Dancing Gypsy and I am totally in love with her. She is such fun to colour although I will admit I was totally intimidated by her hair - lol!! It took me soooo long to colour but I am very pleased with the final result :0) I also got to use some gorgeous papers that I have had for simply ages!!

DDSC Challenge #91

Good afternoon!!

Back again with my DT card for this week's challenge over at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges. We have a colour theme this week of BLUE & BROWN

This gorgeous image is called simply "Morning Glories" and can be found HERE in the Digi Doodle Shop. Now, I must tell you that this card caused me some problems!! I originally printed the image onto white card and coloured it with Promarkers but found the flowers were lost due to the brown of the fence. After several further attempts and still not being happy with the end result, I decided to print it onto kraft card and colour it with pencils. I am still not that happy with this either - I think the flowers could have been a bit darker or maybe I should have used a different shade of blue paper?? Either way, it is definitely better than all the others!!

This week a few of the team got to use some really fun digi images of owls from Copic Marker Scrapbooking on our projects and this is what I came up with. Once again, I am so sorry for the lousy picture, I really am having problems at the moment getting good ones :0( This card is much brighter IRL. I kept it quite simple and went for some paper piecing to match the background papers and a punny sentiment!!!

Good Morning All,

It's time for this week's challenge over at The Pixie Cottage and as usual, we have a choice for you - the theme of EMBOSSING or the wonderful sketch below. Of course, you can combine the two if you want to!! I have used the theme for my card.

This little cutie is called "Give Me a Hug" and can be found HERE at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More in The Pixie Cottage range of rubber stamps. Love that little pup she is hugging!! I really enjoyed making this card - she was a joy to colour and paper piece. I have taken to using white card coloured with a matching Promarker for my matting - so much easier than trying to match a coloured card - you don't need to buy so many different ones and you never run out of a particular colour - unless your Promarker runs out of course - LOL!!

I do actually adore this little fairy so was very happy to ink her up and colour her in. Sorry about the pants picture - those yellow flowers are actually a light cream but try as I may, they keep coming up yellow!! Don't know why 'cos the rest of the colours are perfect ???

Quite a simple card from me this week which would be ideal for male or female. I used the lovely stamp called "Butterfly and Thistle" and just a couple of digi papers which have been distressed around the edge and inked. I also distressed the embossing.

Today I want to share a card I have made for the challenge #1 over at Lili's Little Fairies - New Beginnings. I have had this LOTV "Mr and Mrs" stamp for quite a while now and never inked it up, so thought it was about time!!

I chose to make a white on white design 'cos I think it is perfect for Wedding cards.

My inspiration this week uses a gorgeous digi stamp from Pink Cat Studios called "Lily as Rapunzel". As soon as I saw this image I knew it was perfect for a bookmark, so I made two for my granddaughters. I attached the little circle message to the top of the bookmark with a peg so that they can clip the whole thing to the page. The image is coloured with Promarkers and the pegs I used came from Hobbycraft. Not much more to tell you really, these were so simple to make!!!!

With the last challenge of the year comes some good-byes and hellos. Miranda and Heather will be moving on to other creative ventures in the new year. I wish you both well and want to let you know that I and the team will miss you dearly! We will also have some new team members, check out the blog to see who they are.

Back again - this time with my card for this week's Digi Doodle Shop Challenge where we have everyone's favourite theme of ANYTHING GOES. This challenge will run for two weeks.

For this challenge, I have chosen this lovely image called "Fairy and Daisy". The shaped card is a shop bought one which matched the Spellbinder die perfectly and I have covered the whole card in paper. As per my previous card, I have gone overboard with the flowers - lol!!

Back again - this time with my DT card for Digi Doodle Shop Challenges, where this week we want to see some PAPER PIERCING on your creations.

This was a first for me but I must say it was great fun - I haven't gone overboard with the piercing but did do some around the image and a couple of flourishes on the corner of the papers. I don't own any paper piercing templates so searched the internet for some patterns, printed one out on paper and just pricked through the design. I had some pricking tools which I had bought an age ago when I fancied trying Pergamano (never got very far with this though - far too impatient!!)

The image I have used is called "Fairy in Flight" and you can get her here in the Digi Doodle Shop.

I have used this lovely image from Digi Darla this week called "Better to Give". As soon as I saw her, I knew exactly what paper I wanted to use - this one was a candy win and it matched perfectly with the presents in the image!! The red paper has been Stickled to give it some wintry sparkle.

Hello again!!

The theme this week over at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges is "NATURE"- an easy one for you. This can include any animal, bird, fish, flower, tree - the list really is endless!!

As I have not quite finished my Christmas cards, I chose this Cardinal for my DT creation this week. The image does have some flowers on the end of the branch but I decided to cover them with the poinsettia, which was originally white but I coloured it with a Promarker.

A close-up of the image - I searched the internet for pictures of Red Cardinals, so I hope I have done this beautiful bird justice with my colouring - lol. I have added some glitter to the branch for a snow effect but its not showing up that well in the pictures.

For the inside, I added a tag to write a message on.

The challenge this week at The Pixie Cottage is to create A LAST MINUTE GIFT OR CARD. As usual, we have a theme and a sketch for you, so you can use either or both.

This is the sketch from Katie.

I decided to make a last minute gift using this fab idea for a sweetie bag that I found over on the Craft Barn blog - link here. It was really quite easy to make and looks great when finished.

I have used two stamps from the Pixie Cottage Collection - To Santa from Buffy for the front of the bag and Unfroggetable Winter for the sweets bag topper. Aren't they such fun images. I was going to put some candy canes in the bag but they were too big so I used jelly beans instead (love these)!!.

Snow Fairy Candle

Last year I decorated a candle for a friend of mine which was my very first attempt at this and I loved it!! So as I had some free time on my hands, I decided I would make another one. This technique looks really effective but is quite easy to do. The most difficult thing was colouring on the tissue paper and taking a decent photo - the light will insist on bouncing off the candle - grrrr!! You wouldn't believe how may pics I took before getting a half decent one.

I have added glitter to the image and made a matching tag. The stamp I have used is from The Pixie Cottage range at Michelle's Scrapabooking and More shop. She is called Snow Fairy and is adorable... and so quick and easy to colour - I used Promarkers. Yes...the image on the candle has been reversed (put the tissue paper on the wrong way round - lol).

Back again, this time with my second DT card!! Our challenge over at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges this week is LOTS OF SPARKLE. Now who doesn't love sparkle :0)

This lovely image is called "A Candy Christmas" and can be found here in the shop. I love these gingerbread house images (this is my second one!!) as they are such fun to colour. I seem to have a theme going this year for Christmas as most of my cards have been in pastel shades!! Lots of sparkle on this one - I have used a combination of glitters, stickles and glossy accents. The green coloured card was white but I coloured it with a Promarker to match.

It's time for another challenge at The Pixie Cottage and this week we want you to Make A Set. This can be a set of Christmas cards or tags or a Christmas card and matching box. We also have a fab sketch so you can do either or combine the two.

This week I chose to make a set of tags........

I have used this cute Pixie Cottage rubber stamp called "Hanging Around Mouse" which you can buy from Michelle's Scrapbooking and More. You will find it here. I have used Kraft card and coloured the image with Derwent pencils which was a first for me and I am quite pleased with the end result :0)

I just love this cute little mouse!! I added some glitter to the fur on the stocking and stamped a sentiment on the side of the tag, threaded ribbon through the hole and there you have it, a simple tag. Repeat three times more and voila - a set of tags !!! Oh and I also gave his little nose the glossy accent treatment but it's not showing up in the picture :0( I really enjoyed making these on Kraft card and will definitely be using it again.

Hi All,

Happy Friday to ya!! Today I want to showcase a new digital image from The Pixie Cottage called "My Oh My - Apple Pie" which you can find at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More.

It also fits in perfectly with the challenge over at Papertake Weekly which is "When is a Card Not a Card......"

When it's a recipe card of course !!!

As this recipe is for good old apple pie, I decided to give the card a country feel by using kraft cardstock and fabric effect papers. Oh and not forgetting gingham hearts of course. I was really quite pleased with how it turned out :0)

Our theme this week over at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges is perfect for this time of year - Red and Green. I'm sure we are all using these colours on at least some of our Christmas projects, so this should be an easy challenge for all of you :0)

I have used this very traditional image called "Christmas Door" which is available in the Digi Doodle Shop here and made an easel card.

I added glossy accents to the hearts on the border, the window panels and baubles on the wreath but I'm afraid this does not show up all that well in the photos :0( This image was a real joy to colour and would work just as well with non-traditional Christmas colours.

For this week's challenge, I got to play with this beauty called "Mother Nature" from Mami Doodles. Ain't she gorgeous!! Hello all you lovely bloggers. No card from me today, just a reminder that our a new challenge is starting over on The Pixie Cottage. This week the theme is Family Thankfullness. As usual it is a two part challenge - a sketch and or theme - your choice.

Hello All,
Oh well, the weekend is nearly over but I hope you have had a good one. Mine's been a fairly laid back, chilled out one!! Just the kind I like and I have managed to catch up on some of my DT work too :0)

Good Morning All,
Hope you are all well on this cold and dreary Friday - but yay it is nearly the weekend!!

Today I want to share with you this card I made using this LOTV, cute little bunny couple stamp that I won in Dawny P's candy (xx). I think it's called "Bubble Bath". Don't they look so at home there sharing a glass of bubbly together and are perfect for Lili of the Valley's current challenge - Creature Comforts.

Sorry about the dingy pictures but this dreary weather really makes it difficult to get good ones :0( Anyways, this is the close-up shot.

Back again - this time with my card for our challenge over at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges where we have this great sketch for you to follow. Nice and easy!!!

Continuing with my Christmas cards, I thought I would go mono this week and have used this great image called "Snow Scene". You can find it here at the Digi Doodle Shop. I have used a variety of greys only on this card and it would be perfect for a man.

My card this week was inspired by the brilliant song "You're My Best Friend" by Queen and uses this sweet image from Di's Digi Downloads called Penguin Love. I love having music playing while I craft and quite often sing along at the top of my voice - you should see the strange looks I get from the dog!!!! LOL.

The Pixie Cottage - Blue For A Boy

Hi All,

This post has been scheduled because I will be with Louise, who came home from her Jordan trek on Monday - updates and photos to come.

This week at The Pixie Cottage, our challenge theme is Blue for a Boy with this sketch - remember you can do either or both.

Isn't this a great sketch :0)

For my card this week, I followed both the theme and the sketch using this gorgeous stamp called Love A Lot Lion - he's so cute and an absolute joy to colour. You can find him here at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More shop. I put the sketch onto a square card, but you could quite easily make this a circular one. I cut all my circles on the Cricut and popped the image and message onto foam squares to give them some dimension.

This card will be going to friends of Louise's who had a little boy last week while she was away. I hope they like it!!

Hello to all of you on this sunny Friday (well it's sunny here - for now!!) Today I want to share with you a card I have made in honour of Pet Pardons which I posted about on 1st November - see the post here.

I have used this totally gorgeous image called "Stanley", part of the Ragga Mutts collection. Who can resist those big doleful eyes!! I had great fun colouring him in and was really happy with the end result :0) Think this is probably the best colouring I have done so far - LOL.

I really hope that you will help this great cause by buying some stamps + the special. I know many people who have pets that came from rescue centres and these pets are the best pals ever. So hop on over to the shop today and do your bit!! Please help those poor animals sitting on death row.

Back again !!!

The theme for our challenge this week over at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges is Winter - how easy is that :0) So you can make anything you like so long as it has a wintry feel to it.

I chose to make another Christmas card this week - so that's my second one done LOL. This lovely scene is called "Winter Snow Bird" and you can find it here in the shop. I really love the holly border on this image - it sets off the scene perfectly. I just used a couple of papers, a simple greeting and finished off with some very fine organza ribbon which I won from Dawny P (hugs xx) and some punched and glittered snowflakes.

Not much colouring but loads and loads of glitter!!!

Matching inside - that backing paper is actually grey!!!

For my card this week, I got to use this fun flower design which you can find here at Stretch 'n Bubbles. I started out by searching the internet for Teal as I had a rough idea of what it should look like but wanted to be sure - however there were so many different shades coming up that I decided to go with several shades of teal green!!!

This is a close-up of the design and you can just see a sneaky peak of the decoupaging I did. I kept the card fairly simple - just a few bits of bling, one patterned paper, a sentiment, bakers twine and a button. Oh and some glossy accents too!

Here's a side-on picture of the decoupage.
