I can't believe I have not blogged anything since July - where has the time gone!! I have spent most of the Summer making items for the Craft Fairs we have been attending and completing orders received from our Facebook page. I am now busy making items for our upcoming Christmas Fairs.
I thought it was about time I posted something here so thought I would show you some of our latest makes - no cards I'm afraid but I do have some pretty items to show you.
Some decorative crochet hearts
Christmas door plaque
and two pairs of crochet fingerless mittens!!
So.......now you know what I have been up to. I hope you like :0)
Following on from my last post, my neighbours came back with their request for two more Christening cards (again at very short notice!!!!) and this is what I came up with.......................
They wanted two cards the same for a brother and sister in blue and silver and pink and silver. I am not a great fan of mirror card so kept the silver element to a minimum, The little birds on the branch is a brand new die I recently got from My Crafty Heart and I am loving it. I am quite pleased with the cards but think they would have looked awesome white on white.
The other day, my neighbour asked if I would make two Christening cards for Sunday!! I immediately went into panic mode - TWO cards for Sunday....it's been such a long time since I have made a card that I was not sure my mojo was in any mood to create. Luckily, the neighbour wanted both cards the same as they were for twins - phew!!
My neighbour knew exactly what she wanted which really helped - pink and silver with a cross and this is what I came up with.
The swirl is stamped with Versamark and embossed in silver and the words are computer generated. The cross was cut by hand and the edges punched with a corner punch. I don't have any dies that would make a cross so had to wing it - will definitely be getting one soon :0) I kept the design nice and simple and am very pleased with the final result. My neighbour was thankfully over the moon with them and announced that she would need a couple more cards in the next week or two so it would seem that I shall be back to making cards and hopefully back to blogging!!
Thank you so much for sticking with me.
I would like to enter my cards into the following challenges:-
Bet you thought I had disappeared off the face of the earth!!! No such luck - just still very busy crocheting for the Craft Fairs Louise and I are attending this year. However, in between all of that crochet, I have been stamping - yay!!! Not cards though - notebooks and here is one I made recently.
The idea came from the Inkylicious stand at the Make It show this year. The backing design and jig-saw have been inked using the Inkylicious Ink Dusters (love, love, love these) and then stamped with a variety of images from Lavinia Stamps. The words have been computer generated. They have all then been matted
onto black card and stuck to a plain wirebound notebook - am really loving the final result. I have made a few more but am saving those for another day :0)
I hope you like my latest make - they have been very popular at the fairs.
Thank you so much for taking the time to look - I am so sorry I have been such an awful Blogger of late. I really could do with 48 hours in a day at the moment.
As it has been such a long time, I thought I would enter some challenges with this :-
It's been a while since I have posted anything on this blog so I thought it was about time I showed you some of the items I have been making.
These are some gorgeous crochet Daisy Coasters which are sooo pretty IRL - the photos really do not do them justice. I have made more in other colours which you can find over at The Crafty Duo.
My second show is a crocheted e-Reader Cozy......
This was real fun to make. In fact, the hardest part was choosing which colours to use - but it worked up really quickly.
And this is my next project - a winter coat for Louise's Smart car - no, only joking but I do think it looks like fun :0)
So that's all from me for now - I have made lots of other items but they are all at Louise's house ready for our next Craft Fair on Sunday and I don't have any photos. Will post them shortly if I remember to take my camera!!!
I have just said goodbye to my Daughter Louise who is off to complete her last Macmillan Trek. This time she is trekking through Cuba into Trinidad!! Sounds glorious but I know she will have some tough days ahead walking up and down mountains, as well as through mango and coffee plantations and forest. I am once again so proud of her, especially as she has now managed to reach her goal of £14,000 raised in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care in just over two years. She has said this will be her last foreign trek but we will both continue to raise monies by charity collection days in the local shopping centres and from selling some of our handmade items.
She will be back on 11th March and I am looking forward to that day so that I can stop worrying - LOL!!
I would like to apologise to all of my lovely blogland friends for not visiting recently and for not posting anything either. Louise and I have decided to attend some Craft Fairs again this year (haven't done any for quite a while) and so I have been busy making, making, making!! I shall try to post some of the items on here but as they are not cards, I'm not sure if you will want to see them - LOL. They should all be available on our Crafty Duo page soon too.
Thanks for sticking with me.
Biggest of Hugs
I think my mojo is returning slowly - have made a set of Valentine's cards, albeit very simple ones :0) I have used the images from the Teddy Bo Tags sets - TeddyBoBea Tabs 001 and 002. I cropped the images so that the tag design was not showing. The sentiments were created in my graphics programme and printed directly onto the cards.
Sorry about the lousy photos. Photographing white cards on a white background probably was not a good idea!!
Ingredients:- Medium - Promarkers Card - The Paper Mill and stash
I am really pleased with the finished result of these and hope that my mojo fully returns soon. Thank you so much for looking.
Well, my card making mojo may still be on an very extended Christmas break but I have not been idle. All this rotten snow that we have been having prompted me to get out my knitting needles and knit up some warm items for when I am walking the dog. It's been years since I have knitted anything to wear and I have really enjoyed it :0)
I started with a simple straight cowl . The yarn used is Aran so it knitted up really quickly. This is mine and the one below is taken from the actual pattern to show you what it looks like on.
Having had such fun making this one, I decided to get a bit more adventurous and made this Cowboy Cowl. Again knitted in Aran and again, great fun.
This is mine......
and this is taken from the pattern. I hope you like.
Thanks so much for looking. I am really hoping my card making mojo returns soon so that I shall have something else to show you.
Thought I had better write a quick post to let you all know that I am still around but am having a really hard time finding my mojo at the moment. He seems to have taken an extended Christmas break!!! As soon as he returns, I shall make some cards and start posting again.
Hope you are all keeping warm during this horrible cold weather.
