DYSU Challenge #98

Good Morning,
Hope you are all well and ready for our latest challenge over at Do You Stack Up? Our theme this week is "RAINBOWS" . This can be interpreted in many ways - bright, colourful designs or maybe a rainbow image. Can't wait to see your interpretation.

Our generous sponsors this week are.......

Uniko Studio - £15 Gift Certificate

The Alley Way Stamps - $20 Gift Certificate

How often do you visualise a card in your head only to find that the finished result is not what you had pictured at all? Well this card is one of those!! I have used a Uniko Studio Digi paper set called "Eclectic Mix Summer" which contains some gorgeously bright, modern designs but I was not at all happy with this card. In fact this is about the third design I came up with and still was not happy - LOL - so I decided to make another one.

And this one I am really happy with. I have used the butterfly and one of the sentiments from the "English Country Garden" digital stamp set which contains some lovely verses and images. As you can see, I am still in CAS mode and am really enjoying these style of cards at the moment.

Close up of the somewhat fanciful butterfly :0)

Ingredients:-
Medium - Promarkers
Heart Shapes - cut on my Cricut
Heart Card Sentiment - generated on the computer
Border - Memory Box Summer Border Die
Ribbon - stash
Card - The Papermill

So these are my Rainbow creations and if you want to see even more, pop on over to the DYSU Challenge blog. The rest of the team have created some beauties for your inspiration. That's all from me for today - thank you so much for looking.

Little Ballet Bea

Good Morning,
Happy Friday to you all!!  Today I want to share a card I have made using an adorable Teddy Bea image that I won recently.

Quite different from my last card - lots of detail going on in this one!!  I'm not really a hearts and flowers type of girl and really do struggle when a card calls for flowers as this one really did.  So, needless to say, this card took me ages to make.  The gorgeous image - Teddy Bea 214 - was such fun to colour and really took no time at all, it was the rest of the card that caused the problems. I tried so many different layouts that I had to walk away from it and come back the next day :0)  Got there in the end though!!

Teddy Bea's close-up shot!!

Most of the cards I have seen using her have coloured her in pink so I thought I would go for something completely different and as the papers I have used are some of my all time faves, coloured her to match.  I have added some Glamour Dust to her skirt but it is not really showing up in the pictures.

Ingredients:-
Medium - Promarkers, Derwent Pencils and Weathered Wood DI
Papers - Prima Jack & Jill Collection "Ode To Joy"
Flowers - Prima Sprites 3
Flower centres - Memory Box Cherry Blossom
Butterfly - Martha Stewart Punch
Card - Martha Stewart Around The Page Punch
Flourishes - Memory Box Macarena Corner
Bow - Seam Binding coloured with Promarker to match
Pearls, Brads and Lace - stash

So that's my little offering for today. I hope you like it :0)

DYSU? Challenge #97

Good Morning All,
Time again for another challenge over at Do You Stack Up? and this week our theme is LEAVES AND TREES - so we want to see all of your gorgeous takes on leafy/tree designs.

and our generous sponsors for this challenge are........

Hope Jacare - Choice of 3 digital images

Pink Cat Studio - Choice of 5 digital images

Tiddly Inks - $12 Gift Certificate

As I really enjoyed making a CAS card last week for my Guest Designer spot at In The Pink, I thought I would make another one for my DYSU? inspiration card this week. This gorgeous image is from Pink Cat Studio and is called "Love Birds on Swing". The actual word "love" has been added by me in my graphics program before printing the image. A simple black mat with a punched border, a red ribbon and heart shaped gem completes the card - really simple!!!

Close up of the adorable Love Birds.

Ingredients:-
Card - The Papermill
Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Ribbon and gem - stash

So that's my take on a leafy/tree design - I'm looking forward to seeing yours. The rest of the DYSU DT have created some gorgeous cards for your further inspiration so do take a look and leave them some love.

DYSU Challenge #96

Good Morning All,
Oh my - the 1st November - where has the year gone!!
Time however, for another challenge over at Do You Stack Up? where our theme this week is BRADS. Nice and easy!!

and our sponsor this week is the very generous

who are giving our winner a $25 Gift Certificate

My card for this challenge uses this adorable little cat and sentiment from the Cool Cats set by Market Street Stamps, which you can find HERE.  I have paper pieced her (definitely a she cat) and created a simple round card using one DP and an embossed circle which has had another circle cut from it off centre. A swipe of Distress Ink, a few brads and the sentiment and it was finished. Quick and easy but such fun to make. The circle and cat are attached with foam pads for some dimension.

Look at that cute smiley face - love this little kitty!!

Ingredients:
Paper - sorry no name have had them lying loose  in a drawer for ages
Dotty Embossing Folder
Spun Sugar Distress Ink
Circle and Scalloped Circle Nestabilities
Brads from stash

So, I hope you like my little piece of inspiration and that you are inspired to get out those brads and join the fun. For more inspiration - pop on over to the DYSU Challenge blog and take a look at the rest of the team's gorgeous creations - they are amazing!!
Thank you so much for looking - I shall be back later with my In The Pink GDT card.
Hugs
