Home Sweet (Birdhouse) Home!!

Good Morning All,
Hope you are fine on this sunny, if cold, morning and those of you on the East Coast of America, I hope Sandy is not causing too many problems and that you are all safe.

Today I thought I would share something a bit different with you.  When I moved into my new flat, Louise bought me, as part of my house warming gift, these wooden blocks.......

and as soon as I saw them, I knew I had the perfect item to go with them. I had bought a Tando Creative Mini Birdhouse some time last year which had been lying on my work desk just waiting to be decorated but I had no idea what I wanted to do with it until I saw the script decoration on the blocks.  I have the perfect Script stamp that almost matched and so this is what I came up with.

I painted the house in Natural Wicker then stamped it with the Script. The flowers and butterfly were  touched lightly with the brush to give them an aged look.

This is them in situ on top of my unit in the lounge - think they look pretty good!!! I am amazed at how well the paint and script match the blocks.

Ingredients:-
Paint - Dulux Paint Pot I have had forever!!
Stamp - Hero Arts "Old French Writing"
Flowers - Craftwork Cards - again have had them forever
Flower Centres - MB Die "Cherry Blossom"
Butterfly - cut from Martha Stewart border punch

Well that's all from me for today. Thank you so much for popping by and I will be back on Thursday with my DT creations.
Hugs

DYSU Challenge #95

Good Morning All,
It's Thursday again, which can only mean time for another challenge over at Do You Stack Up? Our theme this week is EMBOSSING - dry or heat, the choice is yours.

and our very generous sponsors are.......................

Birdie Brown - Winner's choice of 3 digital stamps

Paper Pretties - Winner's choice of 6 digital stamps

Robyn's Fetish - Winner's choice of 5 digital stamps

This week I have used this fun little pup from Birdie Brown - love Torico's images. This one is called Party Dog and you can find him HERE. I have used dry embossing on the blue panel and kept the card fairly simple as there is quite a lot going on with the image. Although I have used blues and greens for a boy, this little pup would work equally well for a girl.

This was such fun to colour - made him a patchy pup!!!

Ingredients:-
Medium - Promarkers
Paper - Papermania "Happy Days"
Embossed panel - Cuttlebug Folder (sorry don't know the name)
Sentiment and Card - Craftwork Cards

That's it from me for today except to say I hope you will join us for this great challenge. Do pop on over to Do You Stack Up? and take a look at the rest of the Team's fabulous creations which should definitely inspire you to join in the fun.
Hugs

In The Pink

This is my second post for today - if you are looking for my DYSU DT card please scroll down xxx

A few weeks ago, I entered a card into the In The Pink challenge and it was picked as one of their Perfect Pinkies, which thoroughly delighted me!!  So, you can imagine how happy I was when I received an email from the lovely Christine asking if I would like to be their Guest Designer for the next two challenges - happy dancing was the order of the hour - LOL !! I of course said YES :0)

The challenge this week is BUTTONS AND BOWS and this is what I came up with for my first Guest Designer card......

I have used this adorable image from Saturated Canary called "Butterfly Baby" which I absolutely love and it can be used for a girl or boy. The pink is not quite as dark as shown here in the picture but as usual, I had a lot of trouble getting the correct colour when photographing it - grrrrr

Love this gorgeous little face.

Ingredients:-
Medium - Promarkers and Spun Sugar Distress Ink
Papers - Forever Friends "New Arrival"
Butterflies - Martha Stewart punch
Corner Flourish - Memory Box Macarena Corner
Sentiment - TLC freebie
Buttons, glitter, gems, ribbons and heart gem - stash

I really hope you will join us for this fortnight's fun challenge - after all, who doesn't love PINK!!

DYSU Challenge #94

Good Morning All,
Hope you are all well and ready to play along with us in this week's challenge over at Do You Stack Up? where our theme is VINTAGE.  You can interpret this any way you like - vintage style, vintage image or even just distressing, as long as your creation has a vintage feel to it.

Our fabulous sponsors this week are..........................

Digi Darla - Winner's choice of 5 digis

My Heart Pieces - Winner's choice of 3 digis

Stampendous - Silver and Gold embossing powders

I have used this brilliant vintage car image from Digi Darla for my card this week which although it took me an age, was great fun to colour. I have distressed and inked the edges of my papers and embossed the gorgeous metal corner and the die cut clock to (hopefully) give them an aged look.  You can find this image here.

Ingredients:-
Medium - Promarkers and Walnut Stain Distress Ink
Papers - Bo Bunny "Timepiece Collection"
Clock Die - Tim Holtz Weathered Clock
Metal Corner, Brads and Embossing Powders - stash

So that is my little piece of vintage inspiration - I hope you will pop on over to the DYSU Challenge blog and take a look at the rest of the team's gorgeous creations and join in with this great challenge.

Ghoulfriend!!

Hello All,
Hope you are enjoying your Saturday!!
Today I want to share something a little bit different than my usual cards - something a bit darker!!

This is Roller Skating Zombie from Saturated Canary and I think she is great :0)  I love Krista's zombies but have never had a chance to use one until today.  I have made this card for the challenge over at Saturated  Canary using the colour tones from the inspiration photo (spooky tones).  I cropped the image before printing her as I only wanted to use her upper body.

Aren't they just gorgeous.
Ingredients:-
Medium - Promarkers and Bundled Sage DI for colouring papers
Papers - Crafts House "Pontefract Cake" and Bo Bunny "Beau Jardin Blush" - have had these forever!!
Flowers - stash
Ribbon - Seam binding coloured with a Promarker
Sentiment - TLC freebie

That's all from me for today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Papers - MME Lime Twist "Fly a Kite"
Buttons and Bakers Twine - stash

Bad Hair Day!!

Good Morning All,
Yay - it's Friday!!!  Only four more days until Louise comes home - can't wait cos I am really missing her. Contact has been very limited due to China being such a long way away but she did text her partner yesterday to say that all is going well, although she had a hard day trekking on an old and very high part of the wall - rather her than me :0)

Today I want to share a card with you that I have made for the challenge over at In The Pink - Pink Plus One.  I had this image coloured for their last challenge but just could not get my mojo working so saved it for this challenge instead!!

This gorgeous image is from A Day For Daisies and is called Bird's Nest and I love it!!! It was such fun to colour. I have gone with black as my Plus One - just love pink and black together on a card. I have added little pink gems to the die cut wreath but they are not showing up too well I'm afraid.

Close up view.

Ingredients:
Medium - Promarkers and chalks
Paper - Papermania Capsule Collection
Die cut circle - Memory Box "Catalina Wreath"
Gems and ribbon - stash
Card - cut on the Grand Calibre using Go Kreate Frame "Frilly #4"

Well, that's all from me for today.  Off now to take the dog back home - think she is missing Louise as well :0(
Thank you so much for looking.
Hugs

DYSU? Challenge #92

Hi All,
Thursday again!!! Where are the weeks going? Time for another challenge over at Do You Stack Up? and this week our theme is WARM COLOURS but before I give you all the details, I would like to say a big HELLO and WELCOME to my new followers. I am so pleased you like what I do!!!!

Our three very generous sponsors are:-

Bugaboo - Winner's Choice of 7 Digis

Melonheadz - $15 Gift Certificate

The Stamping Boutique - Winner's Choice of 3 Digis

I was over the moon when I got this brilliant Bugaboo image to play with - loved it the moment I saw it!! It's called "Friends Don't Let Friends Wine Alone 2" and I think it's perfect for our colour theme this week - not that I'm a red wine drinker - prefer white myself!!

I was going to add some glossy accents to the sunglasses but then realised I really ought to add it to the wine glasses and the bottle - so chickened out of that. Knowing my luck the card would have buckled :0(   So, I just added some white highlights with a gel pen instead :0)

Ingredients:-
Medium - Promarkers, white gel pen and Walnut Stain DI around the edges of the papers
Papers - MME Indie Chic "Saffron"
Card and ribbon - stash - coloured with a matching Promarker
Card Candy - Craftwork Cards

So that's my little offering this week. Do pop over to the DYSU? Challenge blog and take a look at what the rest of the Team have created - they are, as always, all gorgeous and I am sure your entries will be too.
Hugs
