Oh No....The Big 40!!!

Hi All,
Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Today I want to share with you a card I made for Louise's friend who turned 40 last week. She is a big fan of Gorjuss Girls and luckily I have plenty of these stamps!

I wanted to make something striking so decided to use black and bright pink for the design. I am glad to say she loved it :0)  Sorry for the not so good photo - it was quite sunny when I took the picture and I can't seem to get rid of the glare without darkening it too much :0(

Ingredients:
Medium - Promarkers and Victorian Velvet Distress Ink
Papers - Wild Rose Studio "Vintage Rose" - so pretty
Butterfly - Martha Stewart punch
Roses - hand cut and rolled
Swirls - Cricut "Home Accents"
Numbers - Cricut "George and bacic Shapes"
Gems - stash

Thank you so much for looking and I hope you like.
Hugs and Happy Crafting

It's Team Karen's turn to host the challenge at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges this week and our theme is Pink and Purple. So get out those pink and purple pens, papers, flowers and gems and show us your wonderful creations.  Here's what I came up with........

This lovely image is called simply "Foxgloves" and can be found HERE in the Digi Doodle Shop, along with plenty of other gorgeous images. You don't need to use one of their images to enter our challenge, but if you do, you get an extra entry so it really is worth having a browse through the shop :0)

A close-up shot!!  Not too pleased with the colouring I'm afraid - the white areas look a bit messy.

Die cut corner - Memory Box Madera Corner
Butterfly - Martha Stewart punch
Gems - stash

I really hope you will join us this week - I'm sure pink and purple is a favourite combo for many of you!! Looking forward to seeing your entries over at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges.

We have two lovely sponsors..........

The Alley Way Stamps -  $20 Gift Certificate

Tiddlyinks - $12 Gift Certificate

I was given this wonderful set  from The Alley Way Stamps called "Monster Mash" to work with this week and this is what I came up with........... obviously inspired by the film Monsters. Inc.

I paper pieced three monsters, added googly eyes, a bit of Glossy Accents and stuck them to a Kraft card circle. I finished with a stamped sentiment and Bob's your Uncle - a fun card perfect for any little boy (or monster!!). So easy to make!!

Ingredients
Papers - MME "Fine & Dandy, Echo Park "A Boy's Life"
Google eyes and Kraft - stash

The rest of the DYSU team have created some amazing cards so I really hope you will take a look and then play along - don't forget to say in your post which film inspired you.

Happy Birthday Louise!!

Good Evening all you lovely Bloggers,

I made this card last week for Louise's Birthday which was on the 15th June but have not had a chance to put it on my blog until today!!

I have used this totally adorable Saturated Canary image called "Ava" which Krista gave away as a freebie back in May. I have been dying to use it ever since I got it and what better time than to celebrate my lovely daughter's birthday :0)

Having celebrated her birthday on the 15th, Louise and a friend hosted another Macmillan Charity event on the 16th June. This time it was an evening event held at "The Starting Gate" pub in Newbury and included raffles, auctions and some interesting (drinking) games - LOL!! All in all, these wonderful girls managed to raise over £1200 - do they rock or do they rock!!  I am so proud of them both.

Ingredients:-
Medium - Promarkers, chalek and Victorian Velvet Distress Ink
Papers - First Edition "Sweet Owl"
Ribbon, brads and flowers - stash
Die Cut Leaves - Memory Box "Tender Leaves"
Die Cut Branches - Memory Box "Madera Corner" - cut into about three pieces
Dies used for card shape - Spellbinders and Go Kreate
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards

So that's it from me for tonight. Thank you so much for looking and for all the lovely comments you always leave - they really are appreciated.
Big Higs

DYSU Challenge #75

Good Morning,
I hope you all had a wonderful Jubilee weekend (those of you in the UK that is!!).  I spent most of it baking cakes with Louise for a Macmillan charity event she and a friend arranged for Monday. There were pony rides, horseshoes for sale, a colouring competition, a raffle and of course cakes!!  We had three hours of fun and  despite several showers, raised over £400 - which was brilliant. Here are a few pictures.......

and now I must tell you about this week's challenge over at Do You Stack Up?  We want you to create something using PAPER PIECING.

Our wonderful sponsors for this week are........

My Heart Pieces -  winner's choice of 3 digis

Rhoda Design Studio - $15 Gift Certificate

Dearie Dolls - all of the digis showcased by the DT

I decided to make two cards this week, the first of which uses this sweet image by Dearie Dolls called "Sunflower Hug Girl". I paper pieced the sunflower using the same papers as those on the card and decoupaged some of the petals - not that you can see this in the photo!

Ingredients:
Medium - Promarkers
Papers - Echo Park "Hello Summer"
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards
Ribbon, ric-rac and buttons - stash

My second card uses this lovely stamp by Woodware called "Patch A House" which I have been wanting to ink up for ages and was perfect for this challenge. This time I paper pieced everything and added some faux stitching around the edge of the Kraft card to tie in with the image.  The little key charm was originally gold but I coloured it with a black Promarker.

Ingredients:
Papers and Flowers - Prima "Almanac
Brad and charm - stash.

Well these are my two pieces of inspiration but I hope you will also take a look at the rest of the team's gorgeous offerings over on the DYSU blog and join us for this fun challenge.
Happy Crafting
Hugs
