Louise is off Trekking again!!

Hi All,
As I sit writing this, Louise is sitting in a bar at Heathrow having pre-flight drinks with her great trekking mate, Phil.  She is off to China this evening on another Macmillan Trek to walk part of the Great Wall. Whilst, I am so very proud of her, my emotions, as per usual, are all over the place!!  I mean, China is such a long way away and contact will be very limited which is so hard when you are used to talking to her everyday. That having been said, I wish her all the best and hope she does not find this one too hard and am counting down the ten days until she returns.

Thankfully, she only has one more trek booked and that is for next year when she treks through Cuba into Trinidad which sounds absolutely gorgeous.  She says that will be her last one..........seeing is believing though - LOL!!  So far, she has raised nearly £12,500 for Macmillan and needs about another £1,700 for her next trip but she has a few collection days booked for next year so hopefully she will reach her target.

Ever since the In The Pink challenge blog was launched, I have been meaning to enter and just never got round to it. This week their challenge is Anything But Square and as I love my round cards, I decided I would make time and enter. This is what I came up with.........

I have used this totally adorable little dancer called Odette from Mo Manning - fell in love with her the first time I saw her!!  I must however apologise for the terrible photo - I really do have a problem photographing cards with a lot of white :0(  I think I have taken a picture in every room in the flat and this was the best of the lot - lol!!

Isn't she just soooo cute and such fun to colour. I shall also be entering her into the DP2 Challenge which is Anything Goes with a Mo image.

Medium - Promarkers, Copics and Spun Sugar DI
Papers - Papermania by Lucy Cromwell
Die Cuts - Memory Box "Macarena Corner" and Doohickey Border

Well that's all from me for today. Off now to get ready to go to Louise's for the weekend - we are doing an 8 mile midnight walk tomorrow in aid of St. Michael's Hospice is Basingstoke. We do this every year in memory of Louise's friend Jazz who died last year of cancer.

Have a great weekend.

Good Morning All,
The theme for our challenge this week at Do You Stack Up? is an easy one .....BIRTHDAY and we can't wait to see all of your gorgeous celebratory creations.

and our sponsor for this week is -

The Stamps of Life who are generously giving our winner their choice of 2 stamp sets

I went with a fairly clean and simple card for my inspiration piece, using two sets from The Stamps of Life - "Greetings 4 Birthdays" and " Flowers 2 Share". The paper is from Pink Petticoat and matches perfectly with the flowers on the card, however the leaves on the paper should have been green but my ink cartridge was running low!!!  Think it looks ok though :0)

Medium - Promarkers
Paper - Pink Petticoat "Perfect Papers"
Bow and Brad - stash

Well that's my little bit of Birthday inspiration but there are plenty more for you from the rest of the Team over on the DYSU Challenge blog, so be sure to pop over and take a look - they are all stunning!!
