I hope you all had a wonderful Jubilee weekend (those of you in the UK that is!!). I spent most of it baking cakes with Louise for a Macmillan charity event she and a friend arranged for Monday. There were pony rides, horseshoes for sale, a colouring competition, a raffle and of course cakes!! We had three hours of fun and despite several showers, raised over £400 - which was brilliant. Here are a few pictures.......
and now I must tell you about this week's challenge over at Do You Stack Up? We want you to create something using PAPER PIECING.
Our wonderful sponsors for this week are........
My Heart Pieces - winner's choice of 3 digis
Rhoda Design Studio - $15 Gift Certificate
Dearie Dolls - all of the digis showcased by the DT
I decided to make two cards this week, the first of which uses this sweet image by Dearie Dolls called "Sunflower Hug Girl". I paper pieced the sunflower using the same papers as those on the card and decoupaged some of the petals - not that you can see this in the photo!
Medium - Promarkers
Papers - Echo Park "Hello Summer"
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards
Ribbon, ric-rac and buttons - stash
My second card uses this lovely stamp by Woodware called "Patch A House" which I have been wanting to ink up for ages and was perfect for this challenge. This time I paper pieced everything and added some faux stitching around the edge of the Kraft card to tie in with the image. The little key charm was originally gold but I coloured it with a black Promarker.
Papers and Flowers - Prima "Almanac
Brad and charm - stash.
Well these are my two pieces of inspiration but I hope you will also take a look at the rest of the team's gorgeous offerings over on the DYSU blog and join us for this fun challenge.
