Good Luck Louise!!

In just under an hour's time, Louise will be flying out of Heathrow on her second marathon trek to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. She is off to Jordan to "trek across the traditional Bedouin trails, experiencing spectacular desert landscapes, towering sandstone canyons, and breathtaking views across the Wadi Araba Mountains.
After six days exploring the unspoiled wilderness and archaeological treasures of Jordan, she will  arrive at the spectacular ‘lost city’ of Petra, hewn from the rocks over 2000 years ago. This fascinating trek promises to be a physically challenging and hugely rewarding experience. Not only will it provide unforgettable memories and a great bunch of new friends, it will make a huge difference to the lives of people affected by cancer.".
This is the description of her journey, as taken from the Macmillan website!! I'm not so sure she will find it quite as enjoyable as described what with the sand, heat and endless walking - lol.  However, I am very proud of her (once again) for doing this and like the soppy Mum that I am, miss her already!!
On a sadder note, it was Jazz who suggested Louise signs up for this one, which she did, little knowing that she would be doing it in memory of her.  I just want to say good luck Louise - you are an amazing lady and I am so proud to call you Daughter. See you in ten days time.
The "Lost City of Petra"

DDSC #80 - Anything Goes

Back again, this time with my DT card for the Digi Doodle Shop Challenge which this week is everyone's fave - Anything Goes!!

This gorgeous image is called Snow Bunnies and this is my FIRST Christmas card of the year - I know.... I'm bit late and that most of you have been making cards for months now but better late than never is what I say - he he!! I searched the net for pictures of snow bunnies and tried to make these look as authentic as possible, hence the black tips on the ears (no they are not dirty smudges - lol).

I kept the design of the card fairly simple - just one DP and an embossed panel, some glittered snowflakes, a double bow ribbon, a silver sentiment and loads of glitter, including around the edges of the papers but I'm afraid this does not show up too well.

Close-up detail of one of the snowflakes

and finally.....the inside. Sorry about the lousy picture :0(

Recipe:
Medium - Promarkers and Flexmarkers
DP - Craft Creations (last years paper - may still be available)
Embossing folder - Swiss Dots
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards
Ribbon and glitter- stash
Snowflakes - Martha Stewart punch

As you all love an Anything Goes challenge, I am really looking forward to seeing your entries but don't forget to take a look at the rest of the team's gorgeous creations.

Thanks for looking

Guest DT Spot

Hi All,
Myself and my DYSU teamie, Heather have been asked to be Guest Dessigner for Bugaboo's Catch the Bug Challenge blog today for their "Homecoming/Show Us Your School Colours" challenge, which I was over the moon to accept - I love their images :0)

I have used this gorgeous little image called "Soccer Boy" although to us Brits he would be known as a footballer!!!  I covered a circular card with some paper from my stash (I think it comes from a Forever Friends CD), inked around the edge, cut a star on my Cricut and a football with my Quickutz. Did a bit of doodling on the star and some shading on the football and there you have it. Oh and the flag and goal stamps are from a Daisy and Dandelion set I won, which arrived the day I was making the card - how lucky was that!!

The image is coloured with Promarkers.

The sentiment stamps are also from the set I won - Onion Plays Footie.

It would be great if you would pop over to Catch the Bug, take a look at the challenge and join in the fun.

That's all from me for today.
Happy crafting!!

DDSC #79 - Green and Purple

Hello again!!
Our challenge this week over at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges has a colour theme of Green and Purple. This is a good one as it covers many subjects - including Halloween which is drawing ever nearer.

I didn't opt for a Halloween card but instead chose this delightful image of flowers in a wheelbarrow which you can find in the shop here. As I could not find any purple card to compliment the green DP I had chosen, I coloured the mats, seam binding and leafy embellishments with a Promarker.  The flowers were already purple and matched really well!!

Close up of the gorgeous image

and inside of the card (managed to complete it on this one).

Right then ladies, you know the drill - pop over to the Challenge blog, take a looksee at all the gorgeous DT cards and then join in the fun :0)  The October special is still running in the shop so there are some great bargains to be had and if you choose to use a Digi Doodle Shop image, you are entered into the challenge twice.

Recipe:
Medium - Promarkers
DP - First Edition  "Spring Feast"
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards
Leafy embellishments - MS punch and Doohickey
Seam binding and roses - Wild Orchid Crafts
Spellbinders label

Once again, thank you so much for looking and I hope you liked what you found.
Hugs

DDSC #78 - Lavender and Lace

Back again, this time with my card for the new challenge over at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges which this week is Lavender and Lace.  Gorgeous!!

This sweet image is simply called "Sleeping Kitten" and you can find it here in the shop. I have used some old lace from my Mum's sewing box which I gathered and stuck to the back of the image. Another straight piece was used for the base of the card. Some lovely organza ribbon, a double bow and finally a message completes the card. Simple but very pretty :0)

Hi All,
Back again with my DT card for Digi Doodle Shop Challenges which is back after a short break while we welcomed our new girlies onto the team. Our challenge this week is DISTRESSING.

This lovely image is called "Day Off" and can be found here in the shop. I have used three different distressing techniques on this card - distressed the edges of the paper with scissors, distressed the edges with ink and painted the striped paper with distress crackle paint.

DYSU #40 - Brown

It's Thursday again and time for the Do You Stack Up? challenge. We have a colour theme this week - BROWN so we want to see those brown papers, brown embellishments or just brown colouring - the choice is yours.

Our fabulous sponsors are:

Copic Marker Scrapbooking - 6 Copic Ciao markers (North/South America) or Martha Stewart punch (rest of the world)

Crafty Emma's Store - £10 voucher (excluding postage)

Delicious Doodles - Winner's choice of 4 images

I have made something slightly different this week - a Teabag Gift Card. This gorgeous image is from Copic Marker Scrapbooking and was a delight to colour.

When I began making this, I was sure I had a teabag in a sachet but yes, you guessed right - I had used it!!! Luckily I had some small vellum envelopes and so used one of those to hold the bag.  This was so easy to make and is such a lovely gift to give to a friend who is perhaps feeling under the weather and needing a quick pick me up. I used a piece of card 4" x 12", scored at 4" and 8", cut the far right panel at a diagonal and folded this in to make the pocket - so simple :0)  I attached the ribbon before the image so that it ties around the whole card.

Recipe:
Medium - Promarkers and Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa for the distressing
Floral Paper, Heart Sticker and Rose Circle- HOTP Paper Pizzaz Girls to Women pad
Spotty Paper - Daisy & Dandelion A5 Collection
Cardstock & Ribbon - stash
Sentiment - freebie

I hope you will pop over to the DYSU blog and give a lovely warm welcome to our two new DT members and hopefully get inspired by all the gorgeous creations to join us for this week's challenge.

That's all from me for now. I shall be back this afternoon with my DT card for Digi Doodle Shop Challenges so hope you will come back and take a look.
Hugs
