Help For My Design Teamie, Karen

Good Morning All,
I was blog hopping this morning and came across this post over at Wendy's Blog. To say I was shocked, is an understatement. I have known Karen, via the Digi Doodle Shop Challenges DT for a while and can honestly say she is a lovely person (although I have never actually met her!). Her posts are always cheerful and she always leaves a lovely comment on your blog. She is a lovely lady who is constantly in extreme pain and due to this, she now needs treatment privately and is selling some of her craft stash to raise funds......we can't let her do this all on her own and there is a way we can help.

To find our more, please, please visit Wendy's Blog for a fuller story in Karen's own words.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and I hope you can help in some small way.
Bless You
Hugs
Denise xx

DDSC # 73 - Anything Goes

Here I am again with my DT card for Digi Doodle Shop Challenges and this week is everyone's favourite theme - Anything Goes so we expect to see lots of lovely entries!!

My inspiration for you this week uses an image I totally adore, called Lady Bug.  I just love her face and those toadstools. Such fun to colour.

I decided to make another circle card - seems to be a pattern developing here - but this one is not a rocker or easel, just your straighforward card (but circular - if you get my drift!!)  Waffling now......enough already.

Front of card - I love how this turned out!! Circle mats cut using Nestabilities and card covered in spotty paper.

Inside of card

Can't wait to see your entries and leave some love on your blogs so don't forget to take a look at the rest of the DT's awesome creations and leave them some love too xx  and if you would like to double your chance of winning, remember to use a Digi Doodle Shop image, although this is not a requirement for entry. The fabulous August offer is still running so you can bag a bargain.  The DT Call is also still running until 11th September, so if you are interested in joining our fab team, go HERE for the details.

My card this week is a simple one and showcases a lovely little image from Digi Darla of a boy on a rocking horse.  As he is on a rocking horse, I  decided to make a rocker card - of course!! The plain circles have been cut on the Cricut, scored across the middle and folded. The scalloped ones have been cut with Nestbailities.

And here is a close-up of the image - sooo cute. He looks like he is having a great time on his little wooden horse :0)

And now it is your turn to have a great time by creating something for a boy or man and joining in with us over at DYSU?. The other girls have made some awesome creations that you really should take a look at - very inspirational. I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

DDSC # 72 - Recipe

Hello Again!
Back with my second post - this time with my DT card for this week's challenge over at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges where we have a fun recipe for you to use - 1 Ribbon, 2 DPs and 3 Buttons. How simple is that.

For my card I have used this image of a sewing basket which suited the recipe perfectly. You can find this lovely image here in the shop. I wrapped some embroidery thread around one of the labels for effect and stitched one of the buttons to a piece of ribbon with the same thread to form a sort of bow. There are only 2 DPs on the card - one is a patchwork image.

Close-up of image

Close-up of buttons as they are a bit dark in the main picture!

The inside using the same patchwork image as on the front!!

The rest of the DT girlies have made some fab creations to inspire you and we all hope you will come join in the fun. Once again, let me remind you that if you use a Digi Doodle Shop image, you get a second entry into the challenge and there is still a great promotion running in the shop - see sidebar for details.  Oh and there is a DT call going out over on the blog too so you definitely need to pop over there :0)

This week I have made a circle easel card - been a long time since I made one of these, which I cut on the Cuttlebug using Nestabilities.  The hearts were cut on the Cricut.

And the sentiment was generated on the computer.

DDSC #71 - Shaped Card

Back again - as promised!!

Right then, this week at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges we want you to make a shaped card - round, rocker, concertina, oval. easel - the choices are endless.

I chose to make a tunnel card using one of my favourite Digi Doodle Shop images - Carousel Horse. I coloured the image, cut it out, attached it to some acetate and sandwiched it between the front and back of the card.

The front has been stamped and the sides and inside back covered with dotty paper. The flags were a freebie digi which I have attached with some photo thingys (sorry can't remember what you call them!) and brads.

Confession - I stamped the front twice - messed it up the first time so had to turn it over and re-do it (with much trepidation 'cos if I messed it up again, I didn't have another white card to use - lol)

Once the card was stuck together, I punched four holes down either side, attached eyelets and threaded some ribbon through them. I also attached some ribbon to the top of the carousel but this does not show up too well in the photo I'm afraid. The sentiment was coloured and printed on the computer.....and there you have it. I love this card and hope you do too :0)

The rest of the brilliant DT have made some gorgeous and varied shaped cards too so do take a look and join us for this fun challenge. Don't forget that if you use a Digi Doodle Shop image, you get a second entry into the challenge and also, there is a fab special offer going on in the shop for this month - details in the side bar.

Recipe:
Colouring medium - Promarkers - thank you Letraset for your ultra fine nibs. Couldn't have coloured this without them!!
Paper - Craft Creations Ltd
Ribbon, brads, eyelets and photo thingys - stash
Sentiment - TLC Creations
Stamp - Personal Impressions, Swirls & Flourishes 1

DYSU Challenge # 32 - Emboss It

Hello All,
It's time again for another challenge over at Do You Stack Up and this week we want to see some embossing on your creations. This can be wet or dry - your choice.

Our Sponsors this week are:

Digis With Attitude - $10 Canadian Funds Gift Certificate

Sassy Studios - Winners Choice of 4 Images

Photobucket

Crop Stop - $15 Gift Certificate

Here is my card for this week using this fun image from Digis With Attitude called "Disco Tween". Her wide trousers and platform boots reminded me of the 70's - no, I didn't dress like this - would have broken my neck on those boots but did have some wide pink trousers - lol - so I went for a retro backing paper and bright funky colour combo with lots of glitter. Check out the glittery trousers!!

The rest of the DYSU DT have made some gorgeous creations once again to inspire you so don't forget to pop over and take a look. Can't wait to see all your lovely creations and here's wishing those that enter good luck in the challenge.

Recipe:
Colouring medium - Promarkers
Paper - found at the bottom of my stash - no name!!
Cardstock - stash
Embossing folder - Sun Rays from Craft Concepts
Ribbon and gems - stash
Sentiment - computer generated
Glitter - Crystal Ice

I'll be back later with my card for Digi Doodle Shop Challenges.

Normality!!!

Me Again!!
Having spent most of yesterday doing very little at all, I realised, in the early hours of the morning, that Jazz would be quite disgusted to think that life has been put on hold because she has gone.  So.....I have made this card using the sweet image "Wonderful Year" by Mo Manning ~

The challenge this week over at DP2 is to make an easel card with an animal or bird somewhere on the card. Well, it's been ages since I made an easel card and I really do like them, so I decided I would enter the challenge!!

And you know what - I felt so much better once it had been made :0)

Recipe:
Colouring medium - Promarkers
Papers - Prima Marketing "Sparkling Spring"
Seam Binding - coloured with a Promaker
Sentiment - came with image
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Sprigs - MS punch

That's all for now
Hugs

Louise's Trek Across Jordan

Hi All,

Firstly, I would like to say a very BIG thank you to all of those who left such lovely comments on yesterday's very sad post - mwah to you all.

Following that post, I had some people ask if Louise is raising sponsorship for the walk as they would like to donate. She does in fact have a JustGiving page and I am sure would be grateful for any donation she could get - even a couple of pounds would help as she still has a lot to raise. Obviously she has not been able to do much fund raising over the past few months due to being with Jazz every day at the hospital and the hospice.

If you would like to help her and Macmillan, I have posted a link to her page on the sidebar.

Thank you all for caring
Hugs

A Very Sad Day

No card to show at the moment as I have not really felt like making one today. Some of you may remember back in January, I posted about Louise climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care as her best friend Jazz had just undergone major surgery to remove cervical cancer. Well, what I did not tell you was that the cancer returned and sadly, Jazz lost that fight today at 13.30pm. She was only 33 years old and had gone through so much in her battle with this awful disease. She will be greatly missed

Louise will be trekking across Jordan in October to raise further funds for Macmillan as they did such a great job caring for Jazz during her illness and in her last few weeks. Many of you may not be aware that Macmillan rely on voluntary donations for 99% of their income - hence Louise's further trip.

The reason for this post is not to ask for anything from you except to wish Louise good luck on her next fund raising mission and also for me to tell all of you just how extremely proud I am of her. Louise - YOU ROCK!!

Happy Times

Thanks for taking the time to read this
Hugs

DDSC #70 - Sketch

Back again - this time with my DT card for Digi Doodle Shop Challenges where we have a lovely, simple sketch for you this week.

My card showcases this gorgeous Geisha Girl image which you can find in the Shop - here.

I did not want to paper piece this image as I feel sometimes it can look a bit flat so I added the floral design on her dress, parasol and the fans myself. The fans have been covered with Glossy Accents and then stuck onto the image. The flowers were a lot larger but I cut them down to fit the card.

 Close-up of image

and the inside of the card

We would love for you to join us this week - my teamies have created some gorgeous cards to inspire you and there is a really special offer running all month long in the shop with some great savings on all digis. So what are you waiting for and don't forget, if you use a Digi Doodle Shop image, you get a second entry - how good is that? :0)

Colouring medium - Promarkers and white gel pen
Paper - Joanna Sheen CD - Elegant Fans
Ribbon, Flowers, Brads, Cardstock - stash

DYSU #31 - Black With A Pop of Colour

This week over at Do You Stack Up we are playing another colour challenge - Black with a Pop of Colour and we cannot wait to see what you all come up with!

Our generous sponsors this week are:

Copic Marker Scrapbooking  giving 6 Copic Ciao Markers (North/South America) or a Martha Stewart Punch (rest of the world)

Shelley's Images giving 3 images of the winner's choice

Through the Craftroom Door 1 year PDF subscription

I have used this Palm Tree image from Copic Marker Scrapbooking for my card which I took into my graphics programme and coloured black. The sun was stencilled onto white card using Promarkers and the tree then printed directly onto this.

I then mounted this onto orange and black card, added black ribbon, white highlights and a circular sentiment from Craftwork Cards and my card was complete :0)  Simple really if you overlook how many attempts it took to get the tree in the right position!!

The rest of the DT have created some amazing cards so please do take a look and hopefully, you will be inspired to join us for this fun challenge.

Hugs
Denise xx
