DYSU Challenge #8 - Anything Goes

Hello All,

Wow, what a lot of gorgeous entries we had for last week's challenge - DOTS - over at Do You Stack Up. Once again, I had so much fun looking at them all and leaving comments.  You guys are fantastic!!  Congrats to the winners and the top 3.

For this week's challenge our theme is Anything Goes and I am really looking forward to seeing what you all come up wih, BUT before I give you the details, there is some great news to tell.  Each week (from March on) one of our Top 3 picks will have the chance to become a GUEST DESIGNER for DYSU Challenge Blog for an upcoming challenge! will choose the guest designer who will have the chance to introduce herself on DYSU Challenge Blog and will also be able to work with one of our sponsor´s products for that week.  How good is that?????

So onto this week's challenge. We have two lovely sponsors again this week and they are:

Black Leak Studios who are giving the lucky winner the Chic Frames Digi Stamp Set.

and Stitchy Bears who are giving our second winner a $10 Gift Certificate to their store.

And below is my offering!

I have used a gorgeous frame  from Blackleaf Studios' Chic Frames Digi Stamp Set which has been printed out onto a pale pink patterned paper - sorry this does not show up in the photo. I have then printed this lovely chandelier which was a freebie I found on the net (sorry, cannot remember where I found it) onto a darker pink version of the paper, cut it out and stuck it in the centre of the frame.

I added small black pearls to the border and the chandelier and a black ribbon to finish it off.  I then printed off a smaller, slightly stretched version of the frame with a Happy Birthday sentiment inside onto the pale pink paper, added a few more pearls and a bow.  Finally, I lined the envelope with the darker paper and there you have it - the completed card and matching envelope!!

As this week's challenge is Anything Goes, you have no excuse for not entering!!!!  I look forward to seeing your entries and leaving a comment and you never know you may be picked to be our very first GUEST DESIGNER!!

Football Mad

Good Evening All

I hope you are having a pleasant Friday evening and looking forward to the weekend. My card tonight uses a stamp that I bought before Christmas but had not yet inked up.  It is from Papermania's Nostalgia range and is called "Football Mad". I fell in love with this image the moment I saw it - don't know why but it just appealed to me.

I have stamped the image with Memento ink - Rich Cocoa - onto water colour paper and dragged this out with a waterbrush. The check pattern backing paper is one my daughter gave me so cannot tell you the make.  The dotty paper has been created by embossing cream card on the Cuttlebug and then brushing over with the ink. I have then distressed all the edges with the same ink.

The tags were a freebie which I printed out on the computer, cut out and then completely inked with the Memento. Behind them is some cream card cut out on the Cuttlebug and randomly stamped with the just the football.

I decided to make an easel card so have used the check pattern paper and added a strip of cream, again randomly stamped and another ticket.

All in all, I am very pleased with the finished result and I hope you like it too!!

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges :

Stampin for the Weekend - Monochrome
Phindy's Place - Monochrome
Polkadoodles - Chocolate
Creative Inspirations - Distressed
Once again, many thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

DYSU Challenge #7 - Dots

We had another great challenge last week at Do You Stack Up and an amazing number of entries - over 200!!. Thank you to all who entered, I love popping over to your blogs and seeing your lovely creations. Congrats to all the winners.

Our challenge this week is DOTS.

And our two lovely sponsors are:

A Day For Daisies who is giving the winner a $16 gift certificate.

and JLJ Designs who is giving 3 digital stamps.

This week I have used a really sweet image from A Day For Daisies called "Hello".  Isn't she just the cutest.

The paper is a digi that has been lurking on my computer for some time so I am afraid I do not know where it comes from - sorry. This and the image has been edged with Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

I coloured the image with Coloursoft pencils, blended with Sansodor and added Stardust Stickles to her wings, dots on her dress and the centre of the flowers in her hair.  The dotty heart brad is one from my stash and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

To finish off, I decorated the inside with two sheets of the paper on the front of the card. Once again, I hope you like!! Now, don't forget to go on over to the DYSU Challenge blog and see all the other great creations from the DT members, they are amazing.  I also hope they will inspire you to join in.

Nearly forgot - DYSU is now on Facebook so you can join us there. The link is:

LOTV Challenge 84 - A Sketch by Dawny

Have you ever had one of those days when you really want to make a card but just cannot come up with any ideas?  Well I had one of those days today.  I wanted to make a card for the current LOTV challenge but could not make up my mind what to do.  It should have been quite simple really because the lovely Dawn has given us a great sketch to work with and there are some fab DT cards on the blog for inspiration, but no - nothing!!

I spent hours looking at all the entries and the various blogs I follow that I know have shown LOTV cards, including the obvious - LOTV Ideas to Inspire - but still nothing.  So I did the sensible thing - I walked away, made a coffee and sat down with some chocolate - guaranteed to inspire!!  After some more blog hopping, I came up with this -

The paper is from Nitiwts - Breath of Fresh Air. I really love this paper but do you think I could find a suitable colour card to mat it on? Of course not - aaaarrrgh. So, I settled on drawing faux stitching around the edges just to add some interest.

The image is a new stamp from LOTV Love and Romance collection called Together Forever and is coloured with Promarkers. The hearts were cut on the Cricut and I layered some white organza ribbon onto a strip of the pink paper and voila, finished.  Well, apart from decorating the inside of course.

I am not sure if I am completely happy with it but having spent hours faffing around and wanting to get the card entered into the challenge, I am not going to do any more with it.

Anyway, I hope you like and thank you so much for looking.

DYSU Challenge #6 - Ribbons

It's Thursday again so that must mean another great challenge over at Do You Stack Up. Before I get to the details of this week's challenge, I want to thank all of you who took part last week and congratulate the winners.  We had some awesome entries!!!

This week our challenge is Ribbons and we have two great sponsors:

Bugaboo Stamps who are giving 7 free digital stamps from the store.

Kristens Power Ink who is giving the winner 5 free digital stamps from her store.

For my card this week I have used a really cute image from Bugaboo Stamps - I love their fun images.  I have kept the card fairly simple because I wanted to add a lot of ribbon!

I coloured the image with Promarkers and created the message on the computer. The paper is from the Daisy and Dandelion stack and the ribbons are American Crafts.

The inside of the card has been lined with red card and strips of DP added.  Again, the message has been generated on the computer.

This was quite a quick card to make but lots of fun.  Hope you like.  Don't forget to pop over to the DYSU blog and look at the rest of the DT's amazing cards.  There is quite a varied selection.  I look forward to seeing your creations and leaving some love on your blog.

Happy crafting.

DYSU Challenge #5 - Red Hot!!

I cannot believe how many entries we are getting to our challenges over on Do You Stack Up.  You are all amazing and thanks for joining in each week.

This week's challenge is "Red Hot" .  So we want to see the colour red on your creation.

We have three lovely sponsors this week.

Create with TLC who is giving a winner a $10 Gift Certificate for digital images

Sassy Studios Designs who are giving a winner four digi images from their store.

Copic Marker Scrapbooking who are giving a winner 6 Copic Ciao Markers.

I have used a lovely sentiment from Create with TLC and made a fairly simple card.

I printed the words "An Everlasting" directly onto the card and then printed the word "Love" onto another piece of card in red.  I cut this out on the Cuttlebug and inked inside the die to give the red border and distressed the edge of the main card.  The flourishes on the corners and beneath the wording have been stamped using  Personal Impressions clear stamps - "Swirls and Flourishes 1".

The red heart is cut from a 6" x 6" Basic Grey paper pad - "Scarletts Letter" .  I added some clear gems, which I have coloured using a Promarker, around the top of the heart and then attached the "Love" sentiment to it.   A red satin bow and heart charm which I had in my stash, completes the design.  I think the charm actually came off an old bracelet I had!! (Never throw anything away).  I also coloured some more gems and stuck them randomly onto the stamped flourishes.

To decorate the inside, I cut a smaller heart and used the flourish stamp on two corners. I used my own wording for the sentiment and again cut it out on the Cuttlebug and inked inside the die. And that's my card!!!

Please do go over to the DYSU challenge blog and see the other DT's creations.  They are once again, varied and truly amazing and will certainly give you a lot of inspiration to join in the challenge.

Thanks for looking and for all your lovely comments.
