Not So Sweet 16

Today - something slightly different from my usual cards.  I am entering this one into the Stampotique Designer's Challenge # 14.  You have to use a Stampotique stamp only for this particular challenge and luckily I had this great Moth Fab stamp which I bought some time ago but have not really used.

The papers are Glitz Design, "Rebel Manuscript" and "Delish" from the Basic Grey Blush collection.  Moth Fab has been coloured with Promarkers and I have added black pearls to her dress and Glossy Accents to the heart on the bag and her boots.  The "Well, la de frickin' dah" sentiment is also a Stampotique stamp.

I am not too happy with the photographs but having taken dozens, these are the best of the bunch I' m afraid - and I have got a new camera!!!!

Anyway, thanks for looking.

Sugar Bowl Challenge # 42

Hi All,

Hooray, Bank Holiday weekend - an extra day's lie in!!!

Today my card is for Lilian's sketch over at the Sugar Bowl.  Theme - pearls.

I have used the Sugar Nellie digi stamp, Webb Knitter and coloured her with ProMarkers. The papers are from a Paper Pizazz Busy Scrapper's Book - for Girls to Women.

Her wings and the web have been glittered with Diamond Sparkles - "Butterfly Wings".  Sorry, the glitter does not show up that well in the photo.

Pearls have been added to the ends of the knitting needles, her hair, down each of the borders and one in each corner of the mat.  Think I have covered the pearls theme fairly well, don't you!!!!

I have also decorated the inside of the card with matching papers.  Although you can't see it in the picture, there is also a pearl in the centre of the flower on the heart.

So......thanks for looking. I hope you like it.

Keep smiling.

What a Star!!

Morning All,

Today is my Birthday, which is why I am not at work and able to post an entry at a reasonable time today!!!

Below is the lovely sketch by Marlene for the Sugar Bowl Challenge which I had great fun making a card for. The theme is Something Old, Something New.

The Something Old is of course the Gorjuss Girl which I have had for some time now. The Something New are the Pink Petticoat papers - "Vintage Rose" which I recently purchased. Aren't they gorgeous?

I cut two stars on my Cricut and have edged all the papers in Distress inks. The message is a Whiff of Joy stamp and for a final touch, I have added Star Dust stickles. The image is coloured with Coloursoft pencils, blended with Sansodor.

For the insert, I cut fourteen smaller stars which have been distressed around the edges and stickled. These were stuck onto the polka dot paper used for part of the larger star on the front of the card.

I have also entered this into Challenge #44 over at Totally Gorjuss - all they want is to see a star on the card. Got plenty of those!!!

Hope you like it.
Thanks for looking!

Stampman Challenge # 3

Happy Saturday All,

Where has the summer gone? Getting really fed up with all this rain so thought we would enter another challenge. Below is our entry in the Stampman Challenge
- Easel Cards - Anything goes. Right up our street!

This time it's a lovely Gorjuss image from
Funky Kits coloured with Promarkers. The papers are various from our stash - think some may be Bo Bunny, edged with ditress ink. The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy.

The embellishments are card candy from Craftwork Cards and the hearts have been made with a tag maker.

Hope you like it.

Keep smiling (despite the miserable weather).

Crafters Companion Challenge 3

Ain't he cute!!!

I first fell in love with Popcorn when I worked for Designer Stitches (sadly no longer trading) cross stitching the sample designs before they came onto the market. So you can imagine how happy I was when I found out that Crafters Companion are now selling this delightful little bear on CD.

Below is my entry into this month's challenge over on their challenge blog. I know it is not a stamped design - that's because as of yet I do not have any of the Popcorn stamps!!! This one has been decoupaged and all the papers are also off the CD.

The flowers are from various places - Bo Bunny, Wild Orchid Crafts and Hobbycraft. The lace and ribbons are some I had in my stash.
I hope you like him.....how can you not!
Don't forget to pop over to All The Things I Love and enter the Simon Says Saturday Surprise Blog Candy Draw - really lovely Tilda stamp to be won.
Have fun xx Denise xx

Ready for 2011!!!!

Good Evening All,

I thought I would try something a little different tonight. Keeping with the easel card theme, I have created a desk calendar! Whenever I get given a handmade card (not often unless its from my Mum!!) I dont want to put it away in a drawer so what better than a desk calendar, always useful and I can look at it all year round..... I have used one of my favorite Tilda stamps and coloured this with distress inks (I'm loving this effect).

Embellished with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and finished with a "made with love" charm.

As always, all comments are greatly appreciated...

Love and Hugs
Louise
